Your privacy on Plexent’s Website

Plexent is committed to respecting your online privacy and recognizes your need for appropriate protection and management of any information you share with us by using our websites. Privacy of data is important to Plexent. We have issued this Privacy Statement as a courtesy to visitors to inform them of what data will be gathered on Plexent’s websites, how it will be used and with whom it is shared.

The following provides an overview of how we protect your privacy during your visit.

1. What Information do we gather?

Information on Plexent’s websites is gathered in two ways: (1) indirectly (for example, through our site’s technology); and (2) directly (for example, when you provide information on various pages of Plexent’s websites).
One example of information we collect indirectly is through our Internet access logs. When you access any of Plexent’s websites, your Internet address may be automatically collected and placed in our Internet access logs.

We collect information directly from you in a number of ways, some of which we describe in this Privacy Statement. One way is through the use of cookies. Cookies are small files of information, which save and retrieve information about your visit to Plexent’s websites - for example, how you entered our site, how you navigated through the site, and what information was of interest to you. The cookies we use identify you merely as a number. If you are uncomfortable regarding the use of cookies, please keep in mind you can disable cookies on your computer by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your browser.

We also collect information when you voluntarily submit it to us. Throughout our site, we provide the opportunity to order a white paper, register for an event or conference, participate in an online survey or provide information for other reasons. When we collect this type of information, we will notify you as to why we are asking for information and how this information will be used. It is completely up to you whether or not you want to provide it.

2. How do we use Your Information?

We analyze your information to determine what is most effective about our site, to help us identify ways to improve it, and eventually, to determine how we can tailor the Plexent websites to make them more effective. We may also use data for other purposes, which we would describe to you at the point we collect the information.

3. Do we share Your Information?

Data we collect may be transferred throughout Plexent’s organization. We will not sell individual information and will share it only with our advisors. There will be other times when we need to share information, for example, in the case of an event where we need to provide our caterer with meal preference information. Plexent may also disclose information in special cases when we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (b) protect and defend our rights or property; (c) enforce Plexent’s website Terms of Use; or (d) act to protect the interests of our users or others. But again, before you submit any information, we will notify you as to why we are asking for specific information and it is completely up to you whether or not you want to provide it.

4. What about Sensitive Personal Data?

We do not generally seek to collect sensitive personal data through this site. If we do seek to collect such data, we will ask you to consent to our proposed uses of the data. We may also collect some sensitive personal data incidentally. By providing us with unsolicited sensitive personal data, you consent to our using the data subject to applicable law as described in this Privacy Statement. We may post customer testimonials on our website which may contain personally identifiable information such as the customer’s name. We do obtain the customer’s consent prior to posting the testimonial to post their name along with their testimonial. The references to “sensitive personal data” are to the various categories of personal data identified by European and other data privacy laws as requiring special treatment, including in some circumstances the need to obtain explicit consent. These categories comprise personal identity numbers, personal data about personality and private life, racial or ethnic origin, nationality, political opinions, membership of political parties or movements, religious, philosophical or other similar beliefs, membership of a trade union or profession or trade association, physical or mental health, genetic code, addictions, sexual life, property matters or criminal record (including information about suspected criminal activities).

Plexent is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. Plexent does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and Plexent does not target its websites to children under 13.

5. Links to non-Plexent websites

The Plexent websites may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave Plexent’s websites. Plexent does not control those sites or their privacy practices, which may differ from Plexent’s. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is not covered by the Plexent Privacy Statement. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal information. Some third-party companies may choose to share their personal data with Plexent; that sharing is governed by that third-party company’s privacy policy.

6. Do we give you access to Your Information?

You are entitled to know whether we hold information about you and, if we do, to have access to that information and require it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. You can do this by contacting us via our Webmaster at webmaster@plexent.com.

However, the security of information transmitted through the Internet can never be guaranteed. Unauthorized access to such areas is prohibited and may lead to criminal prosecution. If there are updates to the terms of Plexent’s Online Privacy Statement, we will post those changes and update the revision date in this document, so you will always know what information we collect online, how we use it, and what choices you have. Plexent reserves the right to modify this Privacy Statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email or other means.
